Malafama – Francesc Cubells 37 Bajo Izquierda – Valencia – 960 88 88 39
Another great new bar nearby the beach in Cabanyal, El Grau. They serve fresh made pinxtos but also have a menu with original food. Good wines, very friendly service and nicely decorated.
This is one of my absolute favorite places in town. The service is super friendly, the food a mixture of Italy, Argentina and Spain. The patio is cool in the summer time and during winter times it keeps you out of the wind. Good wine card and they are proud of their tartas. My favorite bite: the anchoa on toast with butter.
Calle del Rosari 17, Valencia – 633 53 05 94
I love the patio
Anyora – Carrer dén Vicent Gallart 15 – Valencia – 963 558 809
Bodega in Cabanyal with home made specials. Every day they do have interesting choices next to the card. Fresh Fish, interesting meat (like pigs nose or ears). If you are not afraid to try these local specialties just give it a try. Interesting wine card and very friendly service. Make sure you make a reservation if you want to have a table.
Bar Cabanyal, Carrer de Martí Grajales 5 – Valencia – 961 33 53 77
Very fresh fish dishes. Original, tasteful and friendly priced. We took the Albarino wine which seemed to be a good combination with our food. Service is kind. Situated near the Mercado Cabanyal. You need to make a reservation during the weekends. Great value for money.

DOUX-AMER CAFÉ
My favorite place for breakfast
My favorite place to go for breakfast. There are days I go for the Greek yoghurt and fruits and other days I take the gallete complete or toast with salmon, which are also super tasty options. The young forever drink (it keeps me young) and cortado are always part of my order. The sweet pastries are also highly recommended. Cozy design, friendly service, the freshness and quality of the food and drinks is really good.

Fumiferro – Vicente Ballester 38 – Valencia – 96 072 66 40
A great spot in Cabanyal in an area where you might not expect a lovely designed place as this. These guys must be pioneers. Lovely old house transformed into a modern, warm restaurant. Great service and, not unimportant, great food with many dishes from the wood oven. Original combinations and nicely prepared plates. The weekly lunch menu has a fair price and is original and tasteful. Would this be the first of many new places in the Cabanyal area?
El Ultramarinos – Calle Iglesia del Rosario 9 – Valencia – 635 45 40 48
Another great bar in Cabanyal, the old fishermen quarter near the beach. Lovely decorated, open all day, friendly service and great cheeses and different kind of hams, and sausages. It is nearby the theatre and the Rosario square. On the terrace you can enjoy the evening sun.
A food market near the beach with different food trucks/containers and of course drinks. Relaxed atmosphere with locals, tourists and expats. I like the pizza and Las Cremositas. It can be pretty crowed in the weekends and summer nights.
Calle d’Eugènia Viñes, 225 – Valencia
Relaxed vibe
Bar La Paca – Calle de Rosario 30 – Valencia – 637 860 528
Small bar in the lovely Calle de Rosario. Lot’s of art on the walls, nice atmosphere with mainly younger a bit alternative people. Great place to have a beer and meet local people.
Ca la Mar – c/Just Vilar 19 – Valencia– 963 259 827
They cook with fresh products from the market. Lovely place, looks a bit like a Greek bar. Young people who are very kind and want to do something different in the area. Good prices, wines and tapas. Just a 10 minute walk from the beach.
Casa Guillermo – Progreso 15 – Valencia – 963 679 177
Tapas restaurant in Canyamelar, with it’s specialty Anchoa, which indeed is fantastic. Normally I do not like anchovies because it is very salty, but this is very tasteful, and soft. Next to the anchovies they have lot’s of other great tapas. All I have tasted I liked. The Restaurant has a modern feel. The people are proud of what they serve and are very friendly. Good wines as well. Mainly local people come to this place, not so many tourists. There is just one thing which I do not understand is why on earth they did get rid of their lovely garden…..
Casa Carmela – C/Isabel de Villena 155 – Valencia – 963 710 073
Large but beautiful rice restaurant nearby the beach of Malvarrosa. Toni is the owner and a worthy manager, everything goes smoothly. Very friendly service and in my opinion the best Paella Valencia I have ever had. But try the starters and other dishes as well, all is good. If you want to have lunch on Saturday or Sunday, a reservation is necessary.
Casa Montana – C/Jose Benlliure 69 – Valencia – 963 672 314
Old bodega, exist since 1836. It is situated in between C. Jose Benlliure and C. Escalante. At the site of Escalante you find the entrance to the restaurant, at C. Jose Benlliure the entrance to the bar. Very well known in Valencia a great variety of people come down. Great wines per glass (my favorite is Virguilala) and real good tapas. Very friendly and hard working staff. In the high season and weekends a reservation is necessary.
Aduana – Muelle Aduana s/n, – Valencia – 963 672 677
A bit hidden in the port area, just a few hundred meters away from the busy boulevard. The restaurant is placed underneath the platens. The tables are covered in white linen. Very correct service. Next to the rice dishes they have very original starters and main courses. Lots of fish. Friendly service, good wines.
Bar MiSitio – Justo Vilar 6 – Valencia – 963 729 405
Modern bar/restaurant at a corner nearby the Cabanyal Market. Great to go for Breakfast or lunch. Either you choose for the “full” breakfast, which contains a huge sandwich, coffee and fresh orange juice for €5 , or “half” breakfast which has a half size sandwich, which is still pretty large, for € 3,50. They also have tapas. All freshly prepared in their little open kitchen.
Very friendly staff, always full with local people. A great stop before or after going to the Cabanyal market.
