CITY CENTER
A small restaurant at this beautiful and peaceful place in the old center of Valencia. We did choose the menu de degustacion, which did exist of 6 small bites. All of them were original, very well prepared and very tasteful. The service is friendly. If you are nearby the cathedral and you do not want to eat in one of the more touristy places, just walk this 2 minutes extra and enjoy your lunch or dinner in this place.

Cafè Sant Jaume – Carrer dels Cavallers 51 – Valencia – 63 91 24 01
Terrace under the trees at one of the older bars in town. They are famous for their aqua de Valencia, be careful not drink too much of it. Great place for a drink. Often life music on the street. Vibrant atmosphere.
We had dinner which was a combination of small dishes and wine. Everything was perfect. But they also have a very tasteful chuleton and fair priced menu’s. They have a good wine collection. Try to get a table by the window if you are in for a romantic night. The service is super attentive and correct and the space is nicely decorated with white table linnen, which i like.

Cafe Madrid – Calle de l’Abadia de Sant Marti 10 – Valencia – 960 66 05 07
If you are looking for a place to drink a tasteful cocktail before or after dinner while in the city center, this is a great place to go to. It’s a good mixture of locals and tourists. Nicely decorated, but more important they have amazing cocktails. Cheers!

best oysters in town
Small, oyster bar in the city center of Valencia. If you are one of these oyster geeks you need to visit this place. They have a wide variety of oysters, local and international. Great with a glass of cava or white wine. Next to oysters they have all kinds of fish. The smoked eel OMG so good!

A lovely place in the city center. A combination of Spanish and Italian food and wine. Which results in very tasty combinations. The owner is a very gentle host and proud of his restaurant. Great to have a glass of wine, they have an extended wine card, with a bite, but you can also have dinner. A reservation is needed when you would like to have dinner as it is a popular local spot.

michelin star
This was the best we had so far in Valencia. But this is the Michelin Star league, and they have 1 star. WOW. Everything was beautifully decorated, and very tasteful. We took the RIFF menu with wine paring. The bloody mary we did get with the dried tuna as an amuse was simply breath taking. And the rice with peanuts…. Service is friendly and correct. The decoration of the restaurant is a bit too cool for me. But on the other hand this makes sure the attention goes to the plates.

The fourth restaurant in Valencia by Richard Camarena, a Michelin Star cook. They serve “simple” dishes as for their ingredients. But what a great combinations of taste, super tasty vegetables, amazing oysters – combined with a soft cava, soft pork. All was so well prepared. The vegetables which are used are from their own gardens outside Valencia. Really good service.

lot’s of wines
We have not been to many places in Valencia where you are able to get so many different wines per glass. The wine card is original and not only has Spanish wines. The food is interesting. You might call it fusion cooking. Great mixture of styles, fantastic and tasteful combinations. Try the Ceviche de pescado, or Atún marinado con humus and if you like steak tartar, they have one of the best in town. A reservation is needed.

Vermouth is something people drink as an appetizer in Valencia. Within this lovely bar you get great Vermouth. Usually accompanied with a little tapa. These tapas also are tasteful. Be careful it tastes so good that you easily forget there is alcohol in it. Situated in Ruzafa, so when in need of some food afterwards, you can either stay in the restaurant part of the bar, or walk out the door and end up in one of the many restaurants based in this barrio.

Vermouth it is!
near the city center
Amazing experience. This restaurant is not in a tourist area in Valencia and was recommended to us by a Spanish friend. Absolute great service, they love what they serve. All we had was super tasteful and had an original twist. Try the pulpo and the steak. You will not be disappointed!
