A small, quite modern restaurant in Vilafames. We got a table next to the window with stunning views. All dishes are original, well prepared and most important, very tasteful. The bruschettas with duck liver were fantastic, as well as the berenjenas. We would have loved to try more as all looked so nice. But, well you only have one tummy.

We did get a wine tasting by the owner which is a nice way to decide which wine you like best. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

This restaurant has two parts. The bar – just walk straight ahead when you are in for just a quick bite. Or turn left for the restaurant part if you want to have lunch or dinner. We had lunch in the restaurant. Beautiful room, with nicely set tables. Fine food and a great variety of wines, mainly from the Utiel Requena region.

Hotel restaurante Dona Anita – Plaza Albornoz 15, Requena, Tel: 962 – 305 347

Probably not as you expected, it does not really look like a restaurant. Just a few tables. Small but original and very tasteful menu. The cook is really proud and comes to the table with the question if you enjoy your food, if the answer is yes, his face turns into a big smile. The restaurant is placed in a hotel in the old and upper part of Requena.

Hotel los Leones – Plaza Igual y Gil 3, Rubielos de Mora, Tel: 978 – 804 477 

The restaurant is situated in the cellar of the hotel and dived in two rooms, with wood fires. In the neighborhood many truffles are found and you see this on the menu. I did not know that truffles are found in Spain as well, so I was pleasantly surprised. Good wines and very tasteful food. Super friendly service.

 La Cabana de Alarcon – Alvaro de Larea 21, Alarcon, Tel: 969 330373

The restaurant is placed in the old castle town Alarcon which is about 1,5 hours drive from Valencia. We passed by and it just looked really nice from the outside. Once we were inside we were amazed by the stunning view. The restaurant has an eclectic interior which I think is great. The service is really friendly and the food (menu del dia) was tasteful. Great place to have your lunch/dinner while visiting this beautiful town.
